Ethos

This is the characteristic spirit of At Ease Psychology,
as manifested by my attitudes, aspirations and approaches to psychotherapy and supervision.
It is what I desire for myself, and for those I work with and care for.

Whatever our season or
circumstances in life,
to be at ease with ourselves and others, and our past, present and future

Cultivating positive values and strengths

To find and live with meaning and purpose in the present,

aligned to the values and beliefs

we choose to hold,

even when the going gets tough.

To cultivate curiosity, courage, grace, hope, humour, love, forgiveness, quiet confidence, gratitude and contentment.

To build our strengths.

And to appreciate connections of our mind-heart-body, to others, and the world beyond our walls.

To view oneself and others with kindness and compassion, knowing that we are all human - frail, deeply flawed, yet also capable of good.

Broken and bruised, and still whole.

We all need each other.

Because shadows fall, and

life can be hard sometimes.

And together,
we journey and engage with life as it is, becoming who we are meant to be.
